EAST LANSING, Mich. – Senior Cassie Alcala led the way for six Rockets at the ITA Midwest Regionals in East Lansing, Mich. on Saturday, reaching the Round of 32 before falling to a tough Notre Dame opponent.
As a team, Toledo had a combined record of 4-6 in singles and 2-3 in doubles over three days of competition.
Alcala opened the tournament with a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Northwestern's Neena Feldman. Alcala, the two-time MAC Player of the Year, then fell to Notre Dame's Rylie Hanford in three sets. Alcala won the second set 7-5 to force a third-set decider before falling 6-4 to end her weekend.
