AVON, Ohio - The Rockets outhit Kent State but could not match their opponents run total in a 6-3 loss in the Mid-American Conference Tournament on Friday evening at Sprenger Stadium. With the loss, Toledo is eliminated from the postseason tournament.
Toledo (1-2) recorded eight hits, including a three-run home run by junior AJ Montoya, but could not battle back from an early deficit. Junior Dalton Bollinger and freshman Michael Ryan each notched a pair of singles for the Rockets in the loss.
Kent State (2-1) advances in the bracket to play Ohio in the tournament semifinals on Saturday.
