In a game that was not short on big plays, the University of Toledo got a big boost from its special teams in the Rockets’ 63-44 win Saturday against Nevada at the Glass Bowl.
Two special teams scores ignited Toledo in the first half and allowed the Rockets to get out to a lead.
Toledo receiver Desmond Phillips blocked a punt and Reggie Gilliam picked it up and ran for a touchdown late in the first quarter.
