Kliff Kingsbury will take exposure for his program wherever he can find it -- at least outside of national coach hot seat rankings.
From Kingsbury's standpoint, Texas Tech's opener Saturday against Ole Miss in the AdvoCare Texas Kickoff at NRG stadium in Houston represents opportunity, be it in exposure or momentum or recruiting.
"It's huge, just to have that logo up for the last five, six months, to make our imprint in Houston," Kingsbury said this week. "National TV game, 11 a.m., ESPN. GameDay rolls right into it. Great spotlight for our program, no question."
A win over an SEC West Division team -- albeit one coming off an NCAA investigation -- would be just the right kind of vibe Kingsbury needs starting his sixth season at Texas Tech.
