KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Chris Beard put it plain and simple.
“It’s time for us to have a nationally competitive basketball program,” the Red Raider coach said Tuesday at Big 12 Media Day in Kansas City.
By time, Beard didn’t mean in the next few years to allow for a transition period due to the coaching team along with getting “his guys” to Lubbock.
No, he meant now.
And every single Red Raider that puts on a Texas Tech uniform this season is one of his guys.
“Everybody in our program feels the urgency of this,” Beard said.
