A second former Texas Tech football player accused in a January home burglary was booked Wednesday at the Lubbock County jail.
Trace Keaton Ellison, 18, was booked into the Lubbock County Detention Center on a second-degree felony county of burglary of a habitation about 10 a.m. and released about two hours later, jail records show. His bond was set at $5,000.
Ellison, a 6-4, 294-pound redshirt freshman from Frisco Centennial, was released from the team May 5 for what Tech athletic officials said was failing to uphold student-athlete expectations. Robert Castaneda and Dakota Allen were also booted from the team that day for the same reason.
