The Red Raiders managed to hold on and win against the Longhorns for the first time since 2008. The offense came out strong but fizzled out some before finally putting UT away. The win pretty much locks the Red Raiders in for an invite to the Texas Bowl in Houston on December 29th and from the most recent projections it's very likely Texas Tech will square off with Texas A&M.

Texas Tech's offense sputtered in the 3rd quarter and this allowed Texas to get back into the game. The Longhorns took a 38-34 with just under 8 minutes left in the 4th quarter but Tech was able to score and hold UT on 4th down before they put the game away with the Jakeem Grant's trick play.
