Michael Crabtree donates $100,000 to Texas Tech for a scholarship in his name

Two-time first-team All-American and two-time Biletnikoff Trophy winner Michael Crabtree now has a scholarship in his name at Texas Tech.

The school announced Tuesday that the former Carter High School standout has matched a $100,000 gift to fully endow a scholarship, the Michael Crabtree Endowed Scholarship, that will be awarded annually to a wide receiver.

Crabtree, who has played 10 seasons in the NFL, wrote his name all over the Texas Tech record book during his two seasons on the field as a Red Raider from 2007-08.

He set the single-season marks for receptions (134), receiving yards (1,962) and receiving touchdowns (22) as a redshirt freshman in 2007 while eventually snapping the career mark for receiving touchdowns (41) before leaving Lubbock as Texas Tech's all-time leader in receiving yards.
