Last night the world watched the Denver Broncos win Super Bowl 50 over the Carolina Panthers 24-10. The game marked the third consecutive year at least one former Texas Tech football player appeared in Super Bowl and Denver’s win means that for the second year in a row, a Texas Tech football alum is a Super Bowl champion.
Texas Tech has had a long connection with the world’s biggest single-day sporting event. The first four Super Bowls ever played included Red Raiders and over half of the 50 Super Bowls have featured a former Texas Tech football player.
