Texas Tech coach Kliff Kingsbury said Monday he is going to have to start “scouring the country right now for a JUCO or a graduate transfer.”
The Red Raiders lost their fifth scholarship offensive lineman in the last six months — and second in a week — when tackle Justin Murphy announced he was leaving the program due to injuries Monday.
“I regret to announce that I will no longer be a student athlete here at Texas Tech,” Murphy posted on Twitter. “After learning that I will have to have another surgery on the same knee that I had my ACL surgery on last year, I have decided it would be in my best interest to put down the pads for good.
