Many of the area's top basketball players signed during the early national signing period in November. But a handful of players will be signing this week, as basketball's regular signing period begins Wednesday.
The signing period runs through May 17 for Division I colleges and through Aug. 1 for Division II schools.
One of the top seniors who is still uncommitted is Garland Lakeview's Zhaire Smith, a 6-4 guard/forward who averaged 20 points en route to being named the District 10-6A MVP. Smith said in a direct message on Twitter on Monday night that he has narrowed his choices to Texas and Texas Tech.
