Former Texas Tech football player Robert Castaneda, 20, was booked into the Lubbock County Detention Center Friday afternoon on a charge of burglary of a habitation. His bond is $5,000.

Castaneda was kicked off the team in early May for what Tech said was “failure to uphold student-athlete expectations.”

Castaneda, a backup offensive lineman from Round Rock, played in all 13 games last season as a redshirt freshman.
