On Tuesday, Texas Tech University announced that sophomore center Isaiah Manderson has left the basketball program. The 6-foot-11 center from the Bronx, New York will look to continue his basketball career at another university.
Coming to Texas Tech with limited basketball experience after beginning his basketball career late in high school, Manderson was seen as a bit of a project. But players with his size are difficult to come by and Texas Tech head coach Tubby Smith had high hopes for the raw player.
“Isaiah has a lot of potential that we were hoping to help him reach,” Smith said.
