SAN MARCOS, Texas – The Texas State track and field team kickoffs its 2017 indoor schedule on Friday in Baton Rouge, Louisiana for the LSU Purple Tiger Invitational in the Carl Maddox Field House.
"We are starting the season earlier than usual since we have a young team. This will allow our student-athletes the opportunity to grow and gain more experience through the season," said Jody Stewart, Director of Track and Field/Cross Country. "Each meet we look to improve our level of execution and being at our best for conference."
Notable competition that the Bobcats will face on Friday are LSU, North Texas, Northwestern State, Texas Southern, Tulane and fellow Sun Belt Conference member Louisiana.
