SAN MARCOS, Texas – Allstate Insurance Company and the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) announced that Texas State's senior tight end Gabe Schrade is a nominee for the 2017 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team®, one of the most prestigious off-the-field honors in college football.
Schrade is one of 146 student-athletes nominated for this year's award that embodies the true spirit of teamwork and selflessness while donating their limited free time to helping and serving others.
Schrade was one of three Texas State students to earn the inaugural LBJ Civic Leadership Award last spring after serving as a Senator At-Large in the Texas State University Student Government, as the president for the Texas State Fellowship of Christian Athletes and as a football team captain.
