Rangers Recap: Perez Picks Up First Win Of Season

As the Texas Rangers looked to pick up the rubber match against the New York Yankees, they sent lefty Martin Perez to the mound in search of his first win of the season. Perez pitched extremely well throwing 6 innings giving up just two runs on six hits. He tallied three strikeouts, striking out the first three hitters he faced in the game.

Jake Diekman threw the seventh and eighth innings not allowing a baserunner and tallying one strikeout. Diekman has yet to allow an earned run this season and opponents are hitting just .071 against him. Shawn Tolleson picked up his seventh save of this season throwing the ninth inning allowing just one hit in his inning of work.
