Rangers' Fielder knocks in run No. 1,000

ARLINGTON - Rangers designated hitter Prince Fielder recorded the 1,000th RBI of his career with a run-scoring single in the sixth against the Angels on Friday night.

Fielder drove home Rougned Odor with two outs to tie the score and he came around on a double by Ian Desmond to give the Rangers a 3-2 lead.

Cecil Fielder had 1,008 RBIs so he and Prince are only the second father/son tandem to both reach 1,000 career RBIs. The other is Barry and Bobby Bonds. Fielder is the 13th active player to reach 1,000 RBIs as well.
