The Texas Rangers have placed pitcher Austin Pruitt on the 15 day injured list with a knee injury, it was announced today. To take Pruitt’s place on the active roster, the Rangers have recalled pitcher Grant Anderson from AAA Round Rock.
This move was announced late, less than an hour before game time, so it may be the injury is something that flared up during warm ups or didn’t respond to treatment today as expected. Josh Sborz could be activated from the injured list as soon as tomorrow, so Anderson’s stay in the big leagues could be very brief.
