SURPRISE, Ariz. -- Rangers general manager Jon Daniels confirmed that the club has signed pitcher Tim Lincecum, but the official announcement is still pending a physical.
"There is nothing I anticipate will be an issue, but he still has to go through the process," Daniels said.
Lincecum arrived in camp Tuesday after attending his brother Sean's funeral on Saturday. That difficult circumstance delayed the physical and the announcement, and Lincecum will not address the media until the process is complete.
Daniels said Lincecum was signed to pitch out of the bullpen, even though he has been a starter all his career.
