Cabrera hits 400th homer, must wait out rain delay to count (The Associated Press)

ST. LOUIS (AP) -- Miguel Cabrera of the Detroit Tigers has hit his 400th career home run, but needs to wait out a rain delay to see if the milestone shot will count.

Cabrera connected for a solo drive in the first inning at St. Louis on Saturday. That would break a tie with Andres Galarraga for the most by a Venezuelan-born player.

But the game at Busch Stadium was stopped in the bottom of the first inning because of rain. If the game doesn't at least reach the fifth inning and become official, Cabrera's home run would be washed away.
