An in-depth look at the Texas Rangers' performance in the 2016 major-league draft:

STORY LINE: For the first time since 2007, the Rangers took high-pitchers with their first two picks. The added left-hander Cole Ragans of Tallahassee, Fla., North Florida Christian with the 30th pick and right-hander Alex Speas of Powder Springs, Ga., McEachern with the 63rd selection.

The 2007 picks were right-handers Blake Beavan of Irving and Michael Main.
