The Chicago White Sox sent Adam Eaton to the Washington Nationals for pitchers Lucas Giolito, Reynaldo Lopez, and Dane Dunning, their second blockbuster deal in two days.
Eaton is under team control for five more seasons at less than $40 million, and is a quality two-way player who is an option at all three outfield spots, and has average 4-5 wins per season (depending on which version of WAR you use) over the past three years in Chicago.
Having an All Star caliber outfielder for cheap in his age 28-32 seasons has tremendous value, and the Nationals gave up tremendous value to acquire him.
