BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The University of Texas Track & Field program saw many highlights on day one of the NCAA Indoor Championships Friday at the Birmingham CrossPlex. Among them were Tripp Piperi's personal best throw of 20.98m/68-10 to place second in the shot put and Ashtin Zamzow's new school record of 4,294 in the pentathlon to place third.

"We got a great start like Ashtin's and it gave us momentum for a while with performances like Teahna (Daniels) and KB (Kynnedy Flannel)," head coach Edrick Floréal said.
