HENLEY-ON-THAMES, England – Texas Rowing concluded competition at the Henley Royal Regatta on Saturday, falling in the Remenham Challenge Cup semifinals to the top Leander Club boat that represents Great Britain in international competition.
The Longhorns were able to hold their own at the outset of the race, but the Team GB squad took command early were in control throughout the 2,112-meter course. Leander Club led by as much as two lengths and crossed the line in 7:03, 1½ lengths ahead of the Longhorns.
The Texas boat included Rachel Rane, Anna Jensen, Susan Temming, Sophie Calabrese, Etta Carpender, Sammie Schalk, Kelsey McGinley, Lanie Nitsch and Hannah Medcalf.
