HENLEY-ON-THAMES, England – Texas Rowing advanced to the semifinals of the Remenham Challenge Cup at the Henley Royal Regatta on Friday with a victory over Hollandia Roeiclub. The Longhorns will face Leander Club 'A' on Saturday.
The Longhorns' Remenham Challenge boat, consisting of Rachel Rane, Anna Jensen, Susan Temming, Sophie Calabrese, Etta Carpender, Sammie Schalk, Kelsey McGinley, Lanie Nitsch and Hannah Medcalf, defeated Dutch boat Hollandia Roeiclub by one length, finishing the 2,112-meter course in 7:42. Both boats were level through the first 50 meters, but Texas quickly found another gear and moved to a boat length lead at around 250 meters.
