Freddie Steinmark was deemed too small to play college football, even in the 1960’s. His perseverance and determination paid off, however, when he earned a scholarship to play at the University of Texas.

Getting that scholarship was just the first of many challenges placed in front of the diminutive Steinmark.
Now a film depicting Steinmark and his Texas Longhorns teammates is set to open October 9. A defensive back at Texas, Steinmark was part of the 1969 national championship team.
The film stars Finn Wittrock as Steinmark and Aaron Eckhart as coach Darrell Royal.
