After trudging through a miserable regular season, Texas’ only hope of making an NCAA baseball regional was to make an unexpected run through the Big 12 tournament in Tulsa, Oklahoma, this week. And that’s exactly what the Longhorns did.
UT rallied for a 6-3 victory over Oklahoma State in the conference championship game on Sunday, winning for the fourth consecutive time in Tulsa and securing the Big 12′s automatic NCAA bid. The Longhorns (30-25), who had no chance to earn an at-large bid, will learn their regional destination when the NCAA field is announced Monday morning.
Parker French, Ty Culbreth and Connor Mayes all pitched complete-game shutouts for the Longhorns this week to get them to Sunday’s title game.
