The No. 5 seed Texas Longhorns will play on after winning the Big 12 baseball title. Augie Garrido’s crew used superb pitching to shut down a potent Oklahoma Sate offense.
Texas didn’t win a national championship in Tulsa and still has all the pimples they had this morning, but making the NCAA tournament feels a lot better than not making it. The Horns are experienced and have a pitching staff in French, Mayes, Culbreth and Johnston that is suddenly clicking on all cylinders for the first time all year.
Texas will be a tough out no matter where they’re sent which is really all we can ask for from the Horns.
