It is easy for recency bias to infiltrate the minds of sports fans.
Take Billy Kennedy for an example, who is under fire from fans after an underachieving, 16-15 (8-10 SEC) season with the Aggies. A&M's 2016 SEC title— along with Kennedy's SEC Coach of the Year honors and Sweet Sixteen appearance — already seems like a distant memory to many.
In retrospect, that is A&M's only tournament appearance in six years under Kennedy. His 2015 team failed to make the dance with a talented roster, and the Aggies wasted away Robert Williams on a capable team this season.
