It might not be that far-fetched of an idea. Kirk has 163 career receptions and needs just 89 more to break the all-time SEC record. He’s 79 away from the Texas A&M record for receptions (252).
Christian Kirk is so explosive that you’d think taking the ball out of his hands might not be a very good strategy. However, with even more of the offensive onus falling on the junior receiver special teams coach Jeff Banks hinted that we might see more young guys get some return chances next year. I don’t see Kirk leaving punt return duty, but he could very well give up his kick return role.
