Bedene joins Murray in third round

Britain's Aljaz Bedene reached the third round of the French Open for the first time with a five-set victory against Spain's Pablo Carreno Busta.

Bedene, 26, could now face world number one Novak Djokovic after his hard-fought 7-6 (7-4) 6-3 4-6 5-7 6-2 win.

It was an impressive show of resolve from the Slovenia-born player who surrendered a two-set advantage.

However, he recovered his poise in a dominant fifth-set performance against a dangerous opponent.
