Eighth seed Timea Bacsinszky survived Eugenie Bouchard's initial dominance and late second-set surge to make the third round of the French Open.

After the first 18 minutes of the match, Bacsinszky was in a bad situation with a 1-4 deficit to the 2014 Roland Garros semifinalist Bouchard, but after the other 18 minutes the Swiss got to a 4-5 lead and actually proceeded with the winning ways by taking as many as ten straight games.

Trailing 5-0 in the second set, Bouchard started complicating Bacsinszky's life, making the match competitive again by breaking her seeded opponent twice to approach her 5-3, but Bacsinszky managed to squeeze past the revived Bouchard and get a relief of victory, 6-4 6-4.
