The bracket itself may seem like a loss for the SEC with only three teams in and one of them in Dayton, but the committee's choice of Vanderbilt over South Carolina is a big feather in the cap of scheduling up. The Commodores finished 19-13 when they lost their last game to you know who, while South Carolina went 23-8. But Vanderbilt played the SEC's second most difficult non-conference schedule by KenPom and was one of five league teams to play a Top 25 non-conference schedule by RPI.
