Peyton Manning says he has ‘no interest’ in getting into politics

Peyton Manning is ready to put a stop to the political speculation. Enjoying NFL retirement, not a run for the Senate, is in his immediate future.

The former Tennessee and NFL quarterback said Wednesday at the Adobe Advertising Summit in Las Vegas that he’s not interested in running for public office.

“I have no interest in getting into the political world,” Manning said.

In recent months, speculation had linked Manning to a potential run for the U.S. Senate in 2020 in place of Sen. Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.), who reportedly is contemplating retirement.

“I have no idea where that comes from,” Manning said of the speculation.
