KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – You often hear college football players talk about what they don’t get.
They don’t get paid for signing autographs. They don’t get paid for jersey sales. They don’t get a portion of the lucrative TV contracts. They don’t have a union.
Against that backdrop, it was refreshing to hear two Tennessee mid-term enrollees – Deandre Johnson and Shanon Reid – talk about what they do get.
They get a free education. They get to play in front of 100,000 fans at Neyland Stadium. And they get an opportunity to escape tough Florida home environments – Johnson in Miami, Reid in Fort Meyers.
