Despite CEO Tommy Smith's recent insistence that head coach Ken Whisenhunt's job was safe heading into the offseason, the Tennessee Titans have decided to part ways with Whisenhunt after just one year.

Per Terry McCormick of TitansInsider.net, Smith simply said "yes" when asked if Whisenhunt and GM Ruston Webster's jobs were safe after a dismal 2-14 campaign in 2014.
While all indications seemed to point to the pair getting a second chance to get things right in 2015, Smith and the team's front office has abruptly changed course in hopes of jolting the franchise out of its recent malaise.
