Temple Athletics mourns the loss of former football player Paul Malatesta. He passed away April 27, 2020 at the age of 76.
Malatesta, from Upper Gwynedd, Pa., lettered for the Owls from 1962-64.
Paul was a 1961 graduate of Berwick High where he played running back and defensive back. After attending Bainbridge Naval Academy he came to Temple and became a two-way starter during the 1963 season. As a versatile running back, cornerback and return man, he helped the Owls to a 5-3-1 record, Temple's first winning season in eight years. In his 1964 senior season he was instrumental in earning a 7-3 record with many outstanding performances on both sides of the ball.
