FORT WORTH -- Gary Patterson appreciated John Diarse's 75-yard touchdown catch that broke open a win over SMU a week ago.
The TCU coach liked what preceded the reception even more. A graduate transfer from LSU, Diarse took a jarring hit from SMU's Darrion Millines, who was ejected for targeting. After being checked out and cleared, Diarse returned to provide the boost TCU needed to start the second half.
"I talked to my whole team about him," Patterson said. "He took a shot in the end zone, where a lot of guys would have taken themselves out of the ballgame.
