Fly, Horned Frog, Fly | Vaitai named captain for Eagles

A former TCU Horned Frog and DFW native earned a big honor from his new team in Philadelphia this week.

Halapoulivaati Vaitai, known affectionately to TCU fans as "Big V," was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in the fifth round of the 2016 NFL Draft.

He quickly impressed coaches in the offseason and earned a starting role at right tackle after Lane Johnson was suspended, and he'll make his third career start against the Dallas Cowboys this weekend.

The big news? He'll be a captain against the Cowboys in his hometown.

Vaitai played his high school ball at Haltom High School in Haltom City, just north of Fort Worth.
