The Rays on Monday placed All-Star left-hander Blake Snell on the 10-day disabled list, retroactive to Friday, with left shoulder fatigue. Tampa Bay recalled right-hander Chih-Wei Hu from Triple-A Durham in a corresponding move.
Snell had an MRI on Monday morning that revealed no structural damage. Previously slated to pitch against the Yankees on Tuesday, he is expected to miss one start.
Snell is 12-5 with a 2.27 ERA this season. He's fanned 134 and walked just 47 in 119 innings spread over 20 starts.
