Rays prospects and minor leagues: Chirinos’ rehab assignment moves to Durham

The Rays’ fourth-rounder in 2015 was reliever Brandon Koch. He had the chance to move through the system quickly as a college reliever, but injuries struck. He pitched just seven innings in 2016, missed the entire 2017 season, and then missed the first month of 2018. In eight innings for Charlotte this season, the 24-year-old has a 1.13 ERA with a 38.2 percent strikeout rate and 11.8 percent walk rate.

Triple-A Durham Bulls (29-21)

Durham was on the wrong end of a slugfest in an 11-8 loss to Rochester. Jason Coats led off the home half of the first with a homer to tie the game, and the Bulls scored five runs in the inning.
