Rays notes: Morrison getting first swings from No. 2 spot

ST. PETERSBURG — With 2B Logan Forsythe currently entrenched at the top of Rays manager Kevin Cash’s right-lefty, righty-lefty batting order, the No. 2 spot belongs to a lefty.

Cash has several options: SS Brad Miller, DH Corey Dickerson and 1B Logan Morrison.

He is going with Morrison.

Why?

“There wasn’t one specific reason why, other than we like him hitting at the top,” Cash said. “We view him as a really good bat and we want to get him as many at-bats as possible.”

Morrison (6-foot-2, 240 pounds) doesn’t look like a typical No.
