Offense can't get on track vs. Sox

Chris Archer started for the Rays and wasn't nearly as efficient. He needed 109 pitches to get through five laborious innings. Archer threw first-pitch strikes to just 8 of 21 batters, but he allowed just one earned run.

Craig Kimbrel pitched a scoreless ninth to register his 23rd save. The win kept Boston tied atop the American League East with the Blue Jays, who defeated the Angels on Tuesday.

MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
Mookie's missile: Kevin Kiermaier doubled with one out in the eighth, but the speedy center fielder tried to stretch the hit into a triple.
