As the Aug. 1 trade deadline approaches, everyone seems to want a piece of the Tampa Bay Rays' pitching staff. If the Rays do indeed turn into sellers, it won't be until the 11th hour, according to Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times.
Per Topkin, "Discussions are ongoing with at least 10 teams," but just like the last two years the Rays will probably play coy until the final day. Starter Chris Archer remains the biggest prize for potential trade partners, with fellow pitchers Matt Moore and Jake Odorizzi also drawing significant attention.
