MLB Rumor Central: Rays closer Alex Colome drawing interest?

The Tampa Bay Rays continue to “draw interest” on Alex Colome, but the club feels "no urgency” to deal the right-hander who saved 37 games last season, tweets Ken Rosenthal of FoxSports.com.

Colome, who turned 28 on New Year’s Eve, emerged as the Rays' closer last season with a 1.91 ERA and 1.02 WHIP in 57 appearances. Colome is not eligible for arbitration for another season, reducing the need to make a deal in the near future.

It already has been a busy January for the Rays, who traded left-hander Drew Smyly to the Seattle Mariners and infielder Logan Forsythe to the Los Angeles Dodgers.
