Vasilevskiy likely to get more stints in the AHL

Andrei Vasilevskiy may be a No. 1 goalie of the future.

But Vasilevskiy's near-future will likely include some trips back to AHL Syracuse to play for the Crunch, giving the touted prospect an opportunity to play more.

With starter Ben Bishop going to get the lion's share of the starts in Tampa Bay, and very few back-to-back games in coming weeks, coach Jon Cooper said Vasilevskiy could have one, "maybe two'" stints in Syracuse.

Vasilevskiy has played in 15 games for the Lightning this season, going 8-5 with 2.73 goals against average. But Vasilevskiy has just two starts since Jan.
