Plant City couple Chase and Abby Thompson are planning to name their unborn baby boy, due on Nov. 12, Cooper Callahan Thompson, after Lightning coach Jon Cooper and veteran wing Ryan Callahan.
"That's a first," Calllahan said, smiling. "I've had dogs (named after me) before, but not kids."
Chase's brother, Jordan Evers, was at the Lightning's informal skate at the Ice Forum in Brandon Wednesday hoping to get signatures for Cooper's miniature, customized jersey, with "Cooper" on the back.
