Canadiens refuse to go quietly against Lightning

Tampa Bay Lightning

TAMPA — If the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result, then the Montreal Canadiens have lost their minds.

But they’re still alive.

In a jubilant dressing room after Thursday night’s 6-2 romp against the Tampa Bay Lightning, Montreal players said the Canadiens didn’t alter their basic team strategy in Game 4 while staving off playoff elimination.

“(Game 3) was a heartbreaker for sure, but we’ve got a lot of character in this room,’’ said Montreal winger Brandon Prust, who closed out the scoring with an early third-period goal.
