Jameis Winston has already established himself as the face of the Buccaneers’ franchise. Even though the team finished 6-10 in 2015, Winston’s ability to play at the NFL level was clear, as he became one of only three rookie quarterbacks to throw for over 4,000 yards. His 58.3% completion rate placed him ahead of Peyton Manning‘s rookie year (56.7%), ahead of Eli Manning in the first year he started all 16 games (52.8%), and 1/10 of a percent behind Dan Marino (58.4%).
All indications to date are that the Bucs chose the right guy to lead them.
