TAMPA — The Buccaneers put on the pads and turned up the heat on QB Jameis Winston on Monday, feeding him to the defense during a blitz period that didn’t always go Winston’s way.
The rookie threw three interceptions, including on back-to-back plays, during the live 11-on-11 period, but coach Lovie Smith said struggles of that nature are all part of the developmental process.
“Our goal is to get Jameis ready, so we’re doing a lot of things that we don’t normally do at this time of the year defensively to get him as many looks as possible,’’ Smith said.
